About Us
TJ and Liz Kimble are Joshua’s parents and founders of Joshua’s Friends for Exceptional Families. They married in 1994, and had a special needs son in 1997.
During this time, the Kimble’s have developed an understanding of some of the unique challenges that families with special children often face.
Together, the Kimble’s have had numerous experiences that have prepared them for this next step in their life.
They have been board members of:
- Community Advisory Council
- ARC of Greenville
- Meadowview Family Place
They are members of:
- ARC of Kentucky
- Association for Retarded & Handicapped of Hardin County (ARHHC)
Liz's individual involvements have been:
- Worked with special needs teacher
- Helped in special needs classroom
- Participated in play groups
- Participated/volunteered in special needs sports
- Numerous ribbon & awards for cooking and baking
- Currently taking continuing education classes that benefit Joshua’s Friends.
- Big Brother Big Sister
- Top Soccer
TJ's individual involvements have been:
- Has worked in some capacity with children and teenagers over the last 18 years
- Supervised a volunteer therapy group for incarcerated teenagers
- Worked with a group home with special needs adults and children
- Mentored with trouble youth
- Served as a youth pastor with 3 churches
- Served in Army Chaplaincy as a chaplain assistant and chaplain candidate.
- Has a Master’s degree (M.C.C.) in child and adolescent therapy
- Is working on his Doctorate
- Is a licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor with NCCA
- Big Brother Big Sister
The Kimble’s, TJ and Liz, are actively pursuing experiences that maximize their qualifications providing the best experience possible for each family.
It is their deepest desire that each person finds a family supportive experience that is solution focused and addresses the unique needs of individuals and their families.
They would like to embrace special needs families, providing an advocacy support system that is all inclusive, and meets the unique needs and demands placed on exceptional families.
